Although the newer G3 and G3c pistols have come out, the Taurus G2C is still an excellent choice for concealed carry. With its affordable price, you'll get some serious bang for your buck—an accurate and reliable pistol serviced by a variety of aftermarket accessories. It is easy to use and easy to hide. In short, I trust the Taurus G2C, and that's saying something.

My Favorite Taurus Pistol
First, sales are higher than expected, which surprises some people. Taurus is not the company it was 10 years ago. It used to be that if you bought a Taurus (especially a semiauto), some other shooter might give you a quarter and say, "Come back." you get a good whisper, or words like that.
The point is that the number of returns has decreased. Under new management, Demi is really trying to clean up her act when it comes to quality control. However, I am not a Toros fanboy nor do I work for them.

I had my share of returns to Miami. I want to present the idea that the company is trying to do a better job. They are certainly innovative when it comes to weapon development. Examples include the Curve .380, the Spectrum .380 (I own one), and the Taurus 85 View .38 Special with its clear side panel.
G3c, G3x, G3xl…what?
None of these made as much of an impact on the shooting world as the Demit TX22 .22 LR semi-automatic pistol.
This gun, at a glance, could be mistaken for a compact 9mm, but it's actually a full size .22. The magazine holds 16 rounds and the gun has all the hallmarks of a carry gun. This is no coincidence – Demi marketed this gun as a training gun, a .22 that functions like your standard centerfire model. From that point of view it is very innovative.
The reason I mention these is to show that Taurus is clearly trying to think outside the box and regain what it has lost in years of quality control and customer service. G2C (and later G3C) is a great example of this.
Taurus introduced the Millenium series in 2005. Some of the pistol models in this series include the PT111, PT132, PT140 and PT145, all in Standard and Pro format. These guns are single-action, short-recoil operated, and designed to be fired only double-action or single-action/double-action. They were issued to compete in the underground transportation market and for legal enforcement purposes. In 2013, G2 weapons were revealed. These were 9mm and .40 S&W calibers.

The PT111 G2A was the 9mm version and featured a tough rifle on the wrist, a gate safety lever, a single action with double capacity, a built-in "memory filler" frame, three-point rear sight adjustment and Glock. -style pull-down lever removal system. Here are some quick important statistics:
Before it was the G2C, it was the PT111 Millenium Pro. I had two of these. They were great pistols, but the G2C is a definite improvement.
The two main differences between the PT111 Pro and the G2C are the G2C's sharp grip and the lack of the Taurus locking safety system.
This alone made many people buy this gun instead of the old one. The security system, to be honest, was not much appreciated. However, Demi removed it from G2C. With four other safeties, they probably thought they needed it.
Taurus G2c Vs Taurus G3 Size Comparison
Let's start by talking about what I like and don't like about my G2C. Obviously I like it enough to keep it - I do regularly - but there are a few things I could change.
I really like the new grip treatment the island frame got. The thin face that hits your hand when aiming. I might even get out of the iron and put my stiletto work on what Demi did.
Some people don't like these, but I do. I have one in my Springfield XDM, same room flag as the G2C. I can slide my finger over the barrel cap to see if a chamber is loaded, something I've done more than once, without looking at the gun. I like this system better than the "sightholes" that some guns use.
Even though it's a single-action trigger, it uses another two-shot trigger so if it doesn't go on the first time, you can take another crack at it before you go "rack-bang." I've used this feature a lot, mostly on some of my reloads, where I might not run the primer all the way through. They usually always go to the second challenge. A side note: that's why you don't carry loads like self-defense ammo. I usually carry Remington Golden Sabers or Hornady Critical Defense rounds. For an overview of some of the best 9mm self defense ammunition, see here).

Okay, so it's not the most powerful sight out there, but at least you can adjust it for wind and elevation for different loads. I have had similar visions on other Demi guns and they have never failed me.

The feed ramp is nice, maybe not up to Springfield Armory standards, but it sure looks better than the feed ramps I had on older Taurus pistols. I had no problems feeding the factory ammo, although I did have to adjust some of my loads for reliable operation.
(This photo doesn't really show how shiny the ramp is. It's actually better than the old ones. I'll polish it up a bit more when I have time - I got the gun not too long ago).

The closed return spring is mounted on a polymer guide rod. There have been several times that the spring has come out of the end of the rod, binding the gun. Lakeline LLC therefore sells a variety of stainless steel guide rods and springs. Taurus can fix this by making the rod metal, not plastic. What additional cost will I pay to replace this gun?
The reason can be improved. There is a definite "catch" after you fire the slide and pull the trigger, as the trigger safety comes out of the way. When I first got mine, it was so loud that I thought something was wrong because the "click" button didn't light up.
I later found out that the click is related to the trigger tip safety. It seems that the anometry of the trigger safety and the trigger guard could be better. This causes the safety to not close unless you pull the trigger straight back.
Some home remedies I've read about or seen on YouTube are: removing the screw on the end of the arrow or even putting heat shrink tubing on the trigger and arrow and making them "one" by shrinking the tube over both.

I can't imagine that these adjustments will make Miami smile. I don't know about voiding warranties, but why did they cancel? Mine is fine. Just pull the right trigger and you shouldn't have any problems. It works itself out as I line up more.
I know I mentioned the adjusted rear view above. However, some people worry that this particular adjustable sight on a carry gun might be dull. Therefore, they replace the factory look with a fixed or adjustable back.
There are night scenes, again from Lakeline LLC. Another option is the fiber optic front end. In fact, there are many aftermarket solutions for this gun, but if you want a little red, you may need to visit a gunsmith.
Some cowboys on YouTube seem to want to moan and groan about this gun and then conclude that it's not a Sig P365. What do you see? You are right! It is not a P365 and is not intended to be.
Taurus G3 [review]: Worthy Budget 9mm?
In case they've forgotten, when the P365 first came out, it had its share of problems. Nothing is perfect.
Do I hit P365? Heck, no - I want one, but I can't afford one. You can actually buy two G2Cs for the price of one P365 (see below).
I reserved the P365 for special treatment because it seems to be the "cool kid" of the subcompact 9 right now.
Speaking of comparisons, I'll put the G2C's specs next to some other popular 9mm carriers. Hope this helps if you are trying to decide between two or more guns.
