Glock 26 Vs Sig P365xl - The G26 was my first pistol. The second pistol I ever bought and it started my love affair with Glocks. Fast forward through four jobs, including working at a very large gun shop, and it's still one of my favorite hands. I put more rounds through this pistol than any other I own, but the Sig P365 may be the gun that changes things.
Back to SHOT Show 2018 and the release of the Sig P365. It is an engineering marvel with its small size and 10-round magazine. This is the weapon people have been asking for. It seemed to have a good trigger and although it was a bit pricey, it was reasonable for something from Sig Sauer. Fast forward a few months and I was very intrigued but it was riddled with problems. I still wanted to shoot, but I was no longer so short of it.

Sig Sauer P365
When I was given the opportunity by Sig Sauer to take a test gun, I jumped at it. I was really looking forward to finally scratching that itch and putting to bed the idea that Sig had made a gun I would like. The moment I got the P365, I pulled the trigger to turn it on and thought something was wrong. I looked at it again, it looked like a toy gun! I thought smugly, "Yeah, just like I thought this thing was all hype." I was not right. Now, of course, if I hadn't been able to shoot it on the range, my opinion would probably be different. The trigger in dry fire conditions is pretty comical, but at the range this little gun is a dream. Which brings us to the question of will it replace my G26.
Although many people compare the P365 to the G43, I actually think the comparison to the G26 is better. The standard number of rounds is the same, the size is very close and they are similar in weight. The Sig is definitely thinner, and 0.25 pounds less fully loaded certainly gives it an edge in the concealed carry department. The P365 is almost too small. It is the first gun in this category that I really prefer to have the pink extension in the magazine.

Shooting wise, the Sig did everything perfectly. It went through hollow points, brass cases, steel cases, subsonics, without a hitch. I actually had some problems with light primer strikes from my G26 (which is unusual) and no problems from the Sig the last time I went out. The Sig Sauer P365 points very well and shoots great, and the trigger problem magically disappears during live fire. I wish I could explain how or why it's different, but I can't. I just know that in live fire, the P365 is a real joy to shoot, especially for a gun of this size.
P365 Vs Hellcat
While the P365 has a shorter field of view than the 26, the included night sights are easy to grab and very accurate. We are making hits on Area C size targets at 20-25 yards. Night shots also shine brightly in low-light situations. They are certainly a step up from the stock plastic sights on the G26 (mine has upgraded Ameriglo fiber optic sights).
I have carried the Sig daily for almost 3 months now and while it was sent to me as a demo gun, I will be purchasing it. It probably won't replace my G26, and those reasons have more to do with Glock's modularity. My G26 will take all the magazines from my larger frame Glocks and the holsters will all work. For me this is a very important thing. However, if someone asked me about the P365 vs the G26 as a first concealed carry gun, I would have a hard time choosing.

There are a few things about the Sig that I don't like. The first is the price. With an MSRP of just under $600, the Sig is actually priced competitively with a new Glock 26, but you can pick up a used G26 for much less. This should be resolved over time, but right now the SIG is more expensive. This brings me to my second item and that is the spare magazines. Sig magazines are expensive at around $43. I can buy anywhere from two to four mags for my Glock at that price and depending on what I get, they might work with my G19. The lack of spare magazines makes it difficult to use at the range or if you want to take a class with the sig.

I think Sig has done a pretty amazing job with this pistol, and while I'm still not sold on many of them, this is an extremely solid option for concealed carry. The interchangeability and similarity of the Glock line still give it a head start, but for anyone considering something like a Shield or a G43, I'd say you owe it to yourself to give the P365 a chance. For a guy who loves DA/SA autos and skinny revolvers, the Sig P365 XL might seem like an odd choice. But I cannot deny that this is a great weapon. In this review, I look at what I've come to love about the P365 XL after 2,000 rounds and some things that could use an improvement.
The Sig Sauer P365 XL is easily the most impressive new pistol I've tried in a long time. Today, I want to talk about why it has quickly become one of my favorite hidden options.
This gun enters a whole new category of stealth semi-autos. They are not a single stack and they are not really double stacks. They are somewhere in between.
Let's go back to the 1990s - the height of the double wondernine. Back then, a compact pistol was basically a full-sized pistol with a cut-down grip and slide and a slightly shortened barrel. For a sub-solid, they just cut everything down a little more. We can see perfect examples of this in some of the most popular cars of the time; Glock 19 compact and Glock 26 subcompact. When all the other gun companies started releasing their polymer pistols in the early 2000s, they followed the same basic pattern.
Sig Sauer P365 Xmacro 9mm Pistol: What You Need To Know!
Then, a few years ago, a single stack polymer 9mm came along and shook things up. In 2012, the Smith & Wesson Shield was not the first, but it was the gun that took the one nine group from niche status to become one of the most common types of carry guns in the country. Since then, we've seen dozens of new polymer pistols with a 9mm stack come from every corner of the industry. And now we are all sick of them. Especially those of us who have to value and evaluate things for a living.
In January 2018, Sig Sauer saved us from this endless tedium with something that is actually a little different: the P365. It looks like a single stack of nine. It is the same size as a single stack of nines. But somehow they managed to fit ten rounds into the small, bare magazine cart. The typical single-stack 9mm magazine holds 6 to 8 rounds, but this is not a single-stack magazine. The top three or four rounds in the magazine are more or less stacked right on top of each other, but then the magazine tapers outward and finally, the rounds are staggered as a double stack.
The gun was a big hit. Won all kinds of awards. There were some reliability issues early on, but the worst of them seemed to be resolved after the first year or so. In May of last year, Sig released a version with a frame-mounted manual safety. And last July they brought this version: the Sig P365 XL.
It has the same slim profile as the original P365, but with a longer barrel and slightly longer grip for flat 12-round magazines. Sig also makes an extended 15-round magazine. It's about 3 ounces heavier than the standard P365 at 26.3 ounces loaded. Most
