The West and many other countries have accused Russia of attacking its small neighbor and announced sanctions, but President Vladimir Putin has so far ignored the overall weight.

In the weeks before the start of the large-scale offensive, Putin made it clear that Ukraine should not be a member of NATO and demanded the disarmament of Eastern European countries.

The West has refused to accept Moscow's demands, but is using diplomatic channels to persuade Putin to end the war.

Farmers have become icons of the resistance movement, as they bravely "saved" the tanks and supposedly handed them over to those fighting against the Russian occupation.

A video from March 2 shows two tractors pulling the nearly £19 million ($25 million) Tor missile system formerly owned by the Russian military.

Noting that the farmers helped deliver the missile system to the Ukrainian army, UA News said, "The attackers left the equipment on the road and fled, and our farmers delivered it to our army.

"This air defense system will benefit our military and help defeat the Russian aggressors."

In another video, a man, reportedly a Russian soldier, is desperately chasing the vehicle while a tractor tows the armored vehicle. More than five million people have seen it.

Some farmers are thought to have donated the tanks to the defense movement, while others are said to have collected the tanks for their own enjoyment and as souvenirs from the war.

Famous For Towing Captured Russian Tanks, Ukrainian Farmers Step Up For War Effort

We ask that you turn off your ad blocker for our website so that you can continue to access our quality content in the future. On February 25, in the village of Lyubimivka in the Kherson region, the Ukrainians stole a tank. Why is that? Why? Firstly, Russian army tanks and tractors contain a lot of heavy metals. The Russian T-80 tank is made of over 40 tons of metal and is worth US$2 million. Seductive, isn't it? Especially since a ton of plain iron costs 300 euros in Ukraine.

When the Russians could not get the refueling in time, they abandoned their war vehicles in the middle of the field. A fuelless tank is just an expensive can, not a tank.

The Russians do not have the proper logistics and supplies, so there are frequent reports of residents coming to the farmers with a bucket or gas can. Residents didn't think the metal the tank was in was worth the price.

The farmers in the Sumy region continued: They went to the region and confiscated abandoned Russian equipment. They knew it could be used in two ways: It could be sold as scrap or used to cultivate land. Ukrainian farmers say driving a tank is very similar
